Ive been busy as hell the past few months, the print store is going strong, with new prints added recently including The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, Boardwalk Empire and Twin Peaks. http://needledesign.bigcartel.com/

This week i have been working double time. pulled in about 70 hours this week.
working on various projects including stuff for SWN Festival, Wired Magazine and loads of other new and existing clients.

It been the busiest month in history at Studio Needle.
Working on lots of great projects from posters and advertisements for our good friends at SWN festival, to Various branding projects for London based Sporting Companies, whilst also working with Soup Magazine, Giggle Magazine & a few other publications.
In upcoming weeks, i have some great stuff to work on including some events promotion design, band artwork, web layouts and logos.

Little White Lies / Where The Wild Things Are Cover.
Below is a cover design i have submitted to a competition that Little White Lies are currently running.
The brief was to create a cover inspired by new movie "Where The Wild Things Are"
13/10/09 - Exciting day today: I Signed a new contract to become Associate Graphic Designer for Kerma Interactive Media, a new off shoot design company from Kermatech. As well as that i have started a Tumblr which you can follow by clicking here.
7/10/09 - The October Compositions *2 – The Makavelian Dr Pendau.
This is the second illustration of my ongoing personal project The October Compositions, this illustration yet again pictures another charecter, this time its “The Makavelian Dr Pendau”, a sinister looking charecter, living within an experimental landscape somewhere between dali and steampunk.
Another piece for the collection next week.
1/10/09 - This week i have been lucky enough to get a couple of interesting projects in as well as getting a fulltime freelance contract for a London based Web Design Company.
The first of the projects was to create a typographic logo/identity for Up+coming indie band Judy Mooch, below are the ideas i have sent to them, i am now just waiting for some feedback.
The second project was to create a huge wall mural illustration for an Edinburgh based Bar/Venue (Images Coming Soon).
28/09/09 - The October Compisition
Over the month of October i will launching my own self directed project. The October Compositions as it will be known, will be a collection of experimental collage/montage compositions based on various themes and subject matters, from the dark and macabre to the bright and fantastical.

11/09/09 - This week had to be one of the most stressful of my life, i've been working on various projects including leaflets for Clwb Ifor Bach (a welsh nightspot i frequent), as well as that i got a new Blackberry, so now i can get my emails on the go (finally!). Still working on projects with TM Design But the actual stressful part came from my graduation ceremony.

4/09/09 - Its been a funny sort of week, a couple of good web design projects, some logo work as well as editorial work, but still i seem to have £0.00, (urgh bills). anyway to business, below is a poster i recently created as part of my ongoing self directed project "The Kubrick Collection", this time the film is "The Shining".

25/08/09 - for the last few days i have been scouting for new and exciting projects, finishing of various amendments to older projects and taking part in some open submission projects. one of which is Democracy which you may have seen all over the internet (blogs and such).
Below is my design, which is inspired by the informative books that were around in my childhood. the books would be on various subjects but would inform and educate the reader, i decided to create one based around democracy as they have a stunning design aesthetic, a lot of depth and texture which i really wanted within the piece.

23/07/09 - *UPDATES* -
Over a week since my last update and still no proper internet connection (Cheers Virgin Media & Generic idiot Tomos -------). Anyway past the bitterness, I have been both ill and busy this week, after getting swine flu last Saturday-ish (18th) i was bed-ridden and house bound but this gave me time to do some sketching/doodling and come up with some ideas, I also got quite a few interesting projects in this week. firstly i was invited to create a design as part of Becks Music Inspired Art Project (alongside some big names including Kate Moross, Si Scott, McBess, and many more.)

Also some work i did recently for WUW Magazine can be found in the new issue (in all good newsagents, bookshops etc now.)
As well as all that I'm currently working on some cool illustrations for a Reiss Tee, more 10 Feet Tall Stuff, Flight Of The Conchords Series 2 Poster Illustrations, Democracy Illustrations, Hugo Create Round 10 Submission and put the finishing touches to the "Dichitomy" Poster earlier this week.
Not Bad for someone with Swine Flu.
15/07/09 - "Its been a busy few weeks trying to get everything sorted after relocating to a new premises, but now everything is back on track and in full swing. Although full internet services have not been installed (im working off a 3 Mobile Broadband Dongle) which i strongly recommend you don't purchase as the internet you receive is vaguely reminiscent of that of 1998.
Anyway business wise i have been working on many exciting projects, a pitch for Dove, a Logo Design for an Italian Football Team (A.S.Taranto), More Tee Designs, Draw Me Stories EP, More 10 Feet Tall Posters, A Film Poster For American Movie "DICHOTOMY", as well as an interview for IDN Magazine and beginning my own self initiated projects "The Kubrick Collection" and "Juggling Wolves" (A Project that is so hush hush that ive only just informed myself about it).

I seemed to have got a lot of interesting projects coming my way recently, this month i have taken part in a designer challenge for Computer Arts Projects, worked on a logo for a film company, and various other identity projects.
also ive been invited to take part in NIKE78, a creative challenge which involves chosen creatives creating there own Nike Shoe.

In One months time (St Davids Day) I will be exhibiting some work at Wales Millenium Centre.
The them for the exhibition was anything welsh, so i was inspuired by the work of Dylan Thomas, one of Wales' most famous Poets.

Little White Lies / Where The Wild Things Are Cover.
Below is a cover design i have submitted to a competition that Little White Lies are currently running.
The brief was to create a cover inspired by new movie "Where The Wild Things Are"
13/10/09 - Exciting day today: I Signed a new contract to become Associate Graphic Designer for Kerma Interactive Media, a new off shoot design company from Kermatech. As well as that i have started a Tumblr which you can follow by clicking here.
7/10/09 - The October Compositions *2 – The Makavelian Dr Pendau.
This is the second illustration of my ongoing personal project The October Compositions, this illustration yet again pictures another charecter, this time its “The Makavelian Dr Pendau”, a sinister looking charecter, living within an experimental landscape somewhere between dali and steampunk.
Another piece for the collection next week.
1/10/09 - This week i have been lucky enough to get a couple of interesting projects in as well as getting a fulltime freelance contract for a London based Web Design Company.
The first of the projects was to create a typographic logo/identity for Up+coming indie band Judy Mooch, below are the ideas i have sent to them, i am now just waiting for some feedback.
The second project was to create a huge wall mural illustration for an Edinburgh based Bar/Venue (Images Coming Soon).
28/09/09 - The October Compisition
Over the month of October i will launching my own self directed project. The October Compositions as it will be known, will be a collection of experimental collage/montage compositions based on various themes and subject matters, from the dark and macabre to the bright and fantastical.

11/09/09 - This week had to be one of the most stressful of my life, i've been working on various projects including leaflets for Clwb Ifor Bach (a welsh nightspot i frequent), as well as that i got a new Blackberry, so now i can get my emails on the go (finally!). Still working on projects with TM Design But the actual stressful part came from my graduation ceremony.
*Posing for photos, sat in a hall for 2+ hours whilst they read everything in English and Welsh. But its over now and i officially have my First Class Honours BA in Graphic Design.

4/09/09 - Its been a funny sort of week, a couple of good web design projects, some logo work as well as editorial work, but still i seem to have £0.00, (urgh bills). anyway to business, below is a poster i recently created as part of my ongoing self directed project "The Kubrick Collection", this time the film is "The Shining".

25/08/09 - for the last few days i have been scouting for new and exciting projects, finishing of various amendments to older projects and taking part in some open submission projects. one of which is Democracy which you may have seen all over the internet (blogs and such).
Below is my design, which is inspired by the informative books that were around in my childhood. the books would be on various subjects but would inform and educate the reader, i decided to create one based around democracy as they have a stunning design aesthetic, a lot of depth and texture which i really wanted within the piece.

"N O L O V E L O S T" inspired by the Warsaw/Joy Division song of the same title. this started out as a self directed piece but after a bit more work i may use it as my entry to "Digital Artist 2009".

& Some things that will be exhibited on 30th August @ Globe Bar, Cardiff.

23/07/09 - *UPDATES* -
Over a week since my last update and still no proper internet connection (Cheers Virgin Media & Generic idiot Tomos -------). Anyway past the bitterness, I have been both ill and busy this week, after getting swine flu last Saturday-ish (18th) i was bed-ridden and house bound but this gave me time to do some sketching/doodling and come up with some ideas, I also got quite a few interesting projects in this week. firstly i was invited to create a design as part of Becks Music Inspired Art Project (alongside some big names including Kate Moross, Si Scott, McBess, and many more.)

As well as all that I'm currently working on some cool illustrations for a Reiss Tee, more 10 Feet Tall Stuff, Flight Of The Conchords Series 2 Poster Illustrations, Democracy Illustrations, Hugo Create Round 10 Submission and put the finishing touches to the "Dichitomy" Poster earlier this week.
Not Bad for someone with Swine Flu.
15/07/09 - "Its been a busy few weeks trying to get everything sorted after relocating to a new premises, but now everything is back on track and in full swing. Although full internet services have not been installed (im working off a 3 Mobile Broadband Dongle) which i strongly recommend you don't purchase as the internet you receive is vaguely reminiscent of that of 1998.
Anyway business wise i have been working on many exciting projects, a pitch for Dove, a Logo Design for an Italian Football Team (A.S.Taranto), More Tee Designs, Draw Me Stories EP, More 10 Feet Tall Posters, A Film Poster For American Movie "DICHOTOMY", as well as an interview for IDN Magazine and beginning my own self initiated projects "The Kubrick Collection" and "Juggling Wolves" (A Project that is so hush hush that ive only just informed myself about it).
